James had the opportunity to play with the NIKE California Supreme Elite Travel Team at the NIKE Memorial Day Classic Tournament in Atlanta, Georgia last weekend. He received two very nice write ups by Rivals.com and ScoutHoops.com for his performance for the first day of the tournament. The California Supreme went onto win the tournament beating some of the best NIKE Elite Travel Teams in the country. This championship entitles them to participate in the big NIKE Peach Jam Tournament in South Carolina in July that is attended by the coaches of all High Major Division One Programs.

So far, James has received official scholarship offers from the following universities: Arizona, Oregon State, Washington State, San Diego State & San Diego. He is also receiving serious interest from the following universities: UCLA, USC, California, Stanford, UNLV, New Mexico State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Providence and Marquette. He is schedule to take the following unofficial visits (attend elite camps) this summer: California, Oregon State, Texas, UNLV, UCLA, Arizona, Oklahoma & Marquette.

Dakota Laurin

See the Toronto Varsity Blues article here.

The University of Toronto announced on June 5, 2009 that Dakota Laurin, seen here with the Calgary Elite U17 team at the 2009 Pangos Sweet Sixteen Basketball Tournament in Long Beach, California against the Compton Magic Elite, signed a CIS letter of intent to play with the Varsity Blues in 2009-2010. Dakota considered opportunities to play at the NCAA Div II level and walk on offers from Div I schools, but cited the U of T coaching staff, as well as its academic reputation, as key factors in his decision to sign with the Blues. Playing with the Calgary Elite in California, Las Vegas, and Spokane was instrumental in getting Dakota exposure to US recruiters.

Chris Brown one of the top rated players in the USA for the class of 2012 from Southern California played with the Calgary Elite at the PANGOS 2009 Sweet Sixteen tournament held at the Cabrillo High School in Long Beach, CA on April 24-26, 2009.
